British-born fashion photographer, David Sims, started his prolific career by assisting Robert Erdmann and Norman Watson but has since made a name for himself with strong compositions and uncompromising visuals.

From the start of his career, in early nineties, David Sims and his new-wave images made a huge impact on the established mode of fashion photography. At the time, editorials and advertising were full of glamour and depictions of luxury – the end of the 80s supermodel powerhouses era. Sims kept it real, often using friends as models, created powerful imagery, and eventually brought the industry around to his point of view.
