“Photography, fortunately, to me has not only been a profession but also a contact between people – to understand human nature and record, if possible, the best in each individual.”
Nickolas Muray

That is one of the things I have always liked about portrait photography – the (often very brief) opportunity to capture something about a person that may make the viewer see a different side to them; or even bringing out the different personalities of a music band – together but individuals. I like portraits to be quite spontaneous, a captured moment that shows him or her in a ‘real’ way. Not overstyled and posed to pander to perceived notions of their characters, but stripped back and impromptu.
